This is a 12 month, benefits eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Optional coverages can begin on your first active duty date. Position Summary Information

Objective
To perform the day-to-day operations of instructional programs on the assigned campus.
Essential Duties
• Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
• Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
• Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
• Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
• Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
• Advise students in academic matters.
• Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measure progress while informing students in a timely manner.
• Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
• Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, and Curriculum Resource Teams regarding curriculum.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
• Provide information requested of all faculty.
• Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
• Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
• Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally.
• Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings.
• Responsible for other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Associate’s degree or higher in a related field from an accredited college or university with three years of industry work experience in the subject area.

  • No prior teaching experience is required, we’ll introduce you to our curriculum and instructional methods that accommodate our students’ learning styles.

  • Must have the industry experience to provide instruction in several of the following areas: basic electricity and electronics, robotics, micro-processors, instrumentation, digital logic, industrial motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, mechanical drives, programmable logic controllers, machinery installation, AC/DC drives, industrial troubleshooting, safety, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma.
Preferred Experience and Training
  • Teaching at the college or secondary level.
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Five (5) years of industry work experience in the subject area.
  • Industry-based certifications.
  • Bilingual

Physical Requirements
  • Must have physical capability to effectively use and demonstrate equipment trainers used for advanced manufacturing.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Must be capable of walking, standing, bending for 40% of time.
Required Degree, License or Certifications
