Job Description
Definition:
Under general supervision, reviews plans and specifications for residential and commercial buildings. Performs inspections of residential and commercial structures at various stages of construction, alteration and repair to ensure compliance with County codes.

Tasks:
Performs building inspections on residential and commercial structures during various stages of construction; performs inspections on existing buildings for change of use or occupancy for compliance with applicable building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire, zoning and pool/spa codes; documents results of inspections and the performance of related public contact requirements; confers with other agencies, builders, contractors and the general public.
Performs plan reviews of residential and commercial structures, including existing buildings for change of use or occupancy; answers questions and provides information about plan submittal, plan review, corrections, construction site inspection appointments with customer; completes inspection reports and, if rejected, records the needed corrections; provides copies of inspection reports to the builder and assists in investigating building and zoning code violations.
