We're seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our API Core team at Mailchimp. This team is responsible for the core infrastructure and practices that support our public marketing API, enabling seamless integration of Mailchimp's functionality for developers worldwide. You'll play a crucial role in shaping our API strategy, promoting operational excellence, and supporting internal teams in building and maintaining API endpoints.

Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our Atlanta, GA offices two or more days per week.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core API infrastructure components that power Mailchimp's public API
- Collaborate with domain teams to establish and promote API best practices and standards
- Drive improvements in API performance, reliability, and developer experience
- Mentor other engineers and provide technical leadership across teams
- Partner with product management to develop and execute our API strategy
- Implement and maintain monitoring, observability, and performance optimization solutions
- Support internal teams in their API development efforts through consultation and tooling
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience developing systems/software for large business environments
- 5+ years of experience designing complex distributed systems and APIs
- Deep understanding of REST API design principles and best practices
- Experience with API gateway technologies and microservices architecture
- Strong knowledge of API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms
- Experience with: ○ Back-end technologies like Java, Python, or PHP○ API specication formats (OpenAPI/Swagger) ○ Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) ○ Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related area or equivalent work experience

Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is New York $191,000 - $258,500. This position will be eligible for a cash bonus, equity rewards and benefits, in accordance with our applicable plans and programs (see more about our compensation and benefits at Intuit®: Careers | Benefits). Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
