This position is part of the Core Infrastructure Delivery Data Platform Delivery team. Under general direction by the Global DB Services Manager, they will participate in the daily management and administration of DB2 databases. Key responsibilities include responding to incidents and changes, monitoring DB2 activities and troubleshooting accordingly, and escalating critical issues to appropriate teams. This role requires technical and communication skills as well as a level of comfort working with diverse teams.Here, you will make an impact by:Helping modernize support of existing enterprise environmentsDeveloping and supporting automation and tools to support database environmentsImplementing high availability and disaster recovery strategy for critical data and Cloud DBsInstalling and maintaining database server environmentsParticipating in Agile Scrum teamsEnsuring Compliance Controls are maintained to protect dataAssist in developing the future database vision for 3M.Creating support strategy for open source and cloud native DB technologies.Representing Database teams on cross-functional projects.Ensuring Compliance Controls are maintained to protect data.Work closely with the SAP Basis Staff on ERP related DB commitmentsWork as part of the Team to accomplish and oversee the daily support and planned project workEnsure required commitments like DR Compliance and Auditing are completed properlyYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institutionSeven (7) years of IT professional experience in a private, public, government or military environmentTwo (2) Years as Senior and/or Lead of a Technical TeamTwo (2) years experience working with DB Solutions in a Cloud Environment and SAP (ERP) systemsFive (5) years ofexperience supporting Database Technologies DB2 LUW on RHELAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Demonstrated ability to work on projects in a technical environment, emphasis on Agile methodologyExperience with Team work assignment and allocationExperience working in a large system environment and on customer-facing applicationsExperience with DB Solutions in a Cloud Environment (AWS Preferred)Strong analytical and interpretation of data analysis skillsDocumentation and process flowsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility and Experience working in an Agile environment and SCRUM Projects using JIRAExperience working with Databases supporting SAP systems preferredAdvanced experience with DB Solutions on Amazon AWS (Preferred) and/or Microsoft Azure solutionsExperience supporting Mainframe DB2 on IBM zOS.Cross-functional IT expertise (applications, information security, networking)Familiarity with encryption and data protection tools3rd party backup utilities, i.e., CommvaultETL or other data extraction/manipulationFamiliarity with compliance/security standards incl.
