Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a person with 12+ years of experience in consulting or water/wastewater utility asset management experience to join Brown and Caldwell's growing Utility Performance consulting team. The ideal person for this position will leverage their experience in linear and vertical asset management to develop and deliver practical asset management program solutions. Experience in asset management activities that support operations and maintenance, capital delivery and fiscal performance of water utilities is important. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment where personal contributions and teamwork are valued. This position has the potential to work virtually and can be filled near any BC office.
Detailed Description:
Build partnerships with all levels of a client organization to develop practical asset management practices and programs and ensure successful implementation.
Create and lead program development of workshops both in person and virtually.
Build relationships with internal teams that are located throughout the United States and in various time zones.
Complete site visits to water and wastewater plants, collection or distribution systems, and pump stations, across the United States.
Desired Skills and Experience:
B.S. degree in related engineering field (Civil, Environmental etc.), sciences, economics, business, or related field
A minimum of 10 years' experience in consulting and engineering services including project delivery for water and wastewater municipal clients and creating and delivering asset management business practices and programs to water utilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations with clients and develop and deliver written documents.
Proven technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually are required.
The ability to successfully deliver projects in a collaborative fashion and interface with Brown and Caldwell's local, regional, and national water and wastewater practitioners as well as help mentor junior staff.
Knowledge of equipment and assets utilized in the collection, distribution, and treatment of water by utilities.
Significant knowledge and experience in helping clients develop the foundational elements of asset management programs including level of service, asset inventory and hierarchy, data management practices and tools, risk determination through consequence and likelihood of failure analysis, condition assessment methodologies and strategies, maintenance strategy development, capital program justification and prioritization, and performance metrics including long term capital planning.
Experience in advanced asset management methods and practices utilizing appropriate analytical methods and tools to assess condition and remaining useful life of assets is desirable.
Knowledge of international asset management standards is preferred.
Knowledge in vertical and linear asset classes for both water and wastewater utilities is preferred.
Knowledge of or experience with condition assessment methods and strategies
Proven understanding of environmental and regulatory drivers for clients and projects
Experience and proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Project, and Power BI
Understanding of functionality and use of various CMMS systems
Proven track record of successfully delivering on time and on budget while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
Ability and willingness to travel to and support our ongoing projects across the United States. Estimated travel 25%
Ability and willingness to access water and wastewater plants, collection system and water pump stations, and on rare occasions confined space locations.
Ability to work for short periods of time in extreme temperatures including heat and cold.
Ability to wear required safety equipment at sites including hard hats, steel toed boots (or other approved toe protection), safety glasses, etc.
Ability to stand for several hours observing and documenting asset conditions and/or critical facility operations.
Ability to safely walk around water and wastewater facilities of varying size that may have areas of uneven surfaces to perform inspections and take photographs.
Ability to climb stairs (2-3 flights) or ladders (up to 24 feet typically) to access structures for visual inspection.
Valid driver's license and good driving record
Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Salary: $141,000 - $193,000
Location B:
Salary: $155,000 - $212,000
Location C:
Salary: $169,000 - $231,000
