Qualifications

- 5 years’ experience as a safety manager or coordinator in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in safety management in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the woodworking or general production industries.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other state and federal safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train employees and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work independently.
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field and experience.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is a plus.
Additional Information
- This is a full-time position based at our manufacturing and distribution facilities in either Hackensack, MN, or Clarkson, KY.
- Travel between company locations is required.

Summary

The EHS Manager will drive safety initiatives and a culture of safe work activities and processes across multiple locations with emphasis in our production facilities. The Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing the safety programs and policies at our multi-location manufacturing and distribution company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management, experience working in manufacturing environments, and a proven track record of implementing effective safety initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Develop reporting tools with work comp carrier and other systems to analyze data for trends and solutions to common issues and incidents.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at all company locations to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as machine safety, Lock-out/Tag-out, hazardous materials handling, and emergency response procedures.
- Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Work with Production and HR to develop back to work programs and job duties for returning employees
- Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective action and procedures.
- Maintain and update MSDS sheets for existing and new hazards brought into the company.
- Maintain safety records and reports for regulatory compliance and internal tracking purposes.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in workplace safety to continuously improve the company's safety programs.
