POSITION SUMMARY
Sony Corporation of America (SCA)is seeking an Intern, Information Security, to join the Information Security Department. The Information Security team is responsible for the overall security posture of SCA and its subsidiaries, tasked with the protection of information assets, critical systems, and sensitive data. This position will report to theSenior Manager, Information Security.
The Information Security intern will support functions in risk management, vulnerability management, incident response, and awareness efforts in collaboration with other security teams, as well as internal and external partners across Sony. This role presents a great opportunity for the right candidate to acquire hands-on experience in all aspects of an information security program.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the implementation of Sony security policies by creating guidelines documents for employees and stakeholders.
Participate in risk assessment activities, including the review of third-party vendors, and asset inventory processes.
Collaborate on incident response, including monitoring of tools, responding to alerts, and working with stakeholders to mitigate any risks.
Support the team in the implementation of PaaS and SaaS platforms.
Assist the Training & Awareness lead on the creation of reports, presentations, and other awareness content.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Meets one or more of the following requirements:
Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program
Recent graduate of a degree-seeking or technical program, within one year of completion
0-1 year of hands-on experience working with technology (hardware or software)
Understanding of OS hardening, malware detection, physical security, in-transit and at-rest encryption.
Experience with Python, PHP or PowerShell.
Basic knowledge of common network technologies (DNS, DHCP, IP addressing)
Demonstrated interest in risk management and vulnerability management.
Excellent critical thinking, analytical, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills.
Personable, customer service oriented.
Highly organized with a close attention to the details.

The target hourly rate for this internship is $21.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
