We are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Production Supervisor to direct the safe and efficient operation of the Blue Island production department, upholding HSE standards and ensuring compliance with HSE policies and procedures. He/She will be expected to lead by example. He/She will monitor and drive plant performance indicators, including Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Right First Time, raw material and energy usage, and fixed cost spending. In addition, the resource will improve the operating skills, technical knowledge and working environment of the workforce.

We count on you for:
Main activities include:

  • Uphold and advance HSE policies and standards
  • Organize and direct workforce to maximize operating performance
  • Identify and implement improvement projects
  • Work with production planning to create, update, and improve the production schedule
  • Support planning and execution of maintenance activities to ensure smooth plant operations
  • Ensure adequate training of the workforce by facilitating CBT and offering hands-on OJT.
  • Conduct preliminary incident investigations and follow-up on action items
  • Handle personnel matters related to the workforce, including rewards and corrective actions.

HSE Responsibilities include:

  • Know, communicate, train and enforce all Solvay Life Saving Rules and Transverse Rules
  • Fully participate in plant HSE initiatives
  • Set safety compliance expectations for production operators; communicate expectations and assure adherence
  • Review and sign permits for the production department; assure permit requirements are understood and followed
  • Set housekeeping standards for production areas and assure standards are met
  • Supervise staff and contractors that are hazardous and universal waste generators to assure compliance with all applicable Solvay, local, and federal requirements

You will bring:

  • Upholding quality standards to conform to ISO 9001, RSPO and EFfCI policies and procedures.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 or 4 year technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years chemical plant operating experience.
  • Good interpersonal & leadership skills with prior supervisory experience are a plus.
  • Ability to interact effectively with hourly workforce, operations management, other supervisors and plant personnel.
  • Understanding of safe work practices, Process Safety Management, Incident investigation techniques, and safety & environmental regulations.
  • Ability to apply practical and/or engineering knowledge to solve plant problems and to implement improvement actions.
  • Ability to assess, prioritize, and resolve production issues.
  • Ability to develop a workforce through reward and recognition, coaching, corrective action and progressive discipline.

You will get:

  • The U.S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 per year.
  • Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range.
  • Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
