Required Skills:
1. Educational – graduation from high school or equivalent
2. Knowledge and Experience –
? 5 years experience in high pressure boiler and turbine operation; knowledge of machines, tools and equipment associated with their operation
? 2 years experience leading and directing the work of others
3. Licensure – must hold a Minnesota license
4. Other –
? Must be able to perform the duties of the position
? Must have knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions
? It is desirable an individual be promotable to a position of higher responsibility
? Thorough knowledge of the operations of a cogeneration power plant
? Should have an analytical mind to be able to solve problems of both a technical and operational nature
? Should be able to get along and effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, both inside and outside the Department
? Ability to understand and carry out written and/or oral instructions

Preferred Skills:
PREFER 2 - 5 Years Experience as an Operator
Experience Working Various Shifts, maintaining required logs and recordkeeping

Job Description:
1. Directs and participates in plant operation, maintenance and repair of high pressure boilers, generators, pumps, exciters, compressors, and related equipment
2. Assigns, participates, and directs minor repair of plant machinery and equipment, reporting any need for major maintenance and making or directing repairs in emergency situations
3. Keeps accurate record of temperature, loads, correlation of steam pressures and electric load, steam flows, and water analyses
4. Maintains constant attention to overall operation of Plant
5. Performs other related work as assigned.
6. May be asked to work extra shifts or callouts.
