    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    The Rehabilitation Medicine Clinic at UW Medical Center - Montlake provides comprehensive care for patients with complex or long-term consequences of a major illness or injury.
    We assist patients with physical and cognitive problems and a range of conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injury, brain injury, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, amputations, post-polio, cancer-related disabilities including neuro-oncology; pain and neurological disorders; and musculoskeletal disorders.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Room patients, take vital signs, and reconcile records
  • Perform injections
  • Prepare and clean exam rooms
  • Submit medication prior authorizations
  • Recognize symptoms of common medical illnesses and accurately report to provider
  • Act as a liaison between patient, patient’s family and providers 
  • Assist provider with procedures and medical exams
  • Perform point of care testing and report abnormal laboratory values
  • Assist in transporting patients as required

    REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Eligible for licensure in the State of Washington as a Medical Assistant-Registered; attestation must be completed by the applicable provider and submitted to the state within 7 days of hire. Licensure is not transferable between UW clinics/departments.
  • Six months experience in a health care setting preferred
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card
