Job Description

Spallinger Millwright Services(SMS) is currently seeking Construction Project Manager and Estimator Personnel for our Industrial field services.

As a project manager with our team, your primary responsibility will be to help manage our small construction projects to finish on time and on budget while delivering a quality product. You’ll need to collaborate and work with other construction trades, architects, engineers, and owners to coordinate and install the work designed to ensure the owner has a fully functional building as intended and help problem solve unforeseen issues to deliver a successful project to the owners.

Responsibilities (position may include other duties):

  • Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Must have over 5 years of experience with extensive knowledge of construction
  • Must be able to understand and interpret safety laws and company policies/standards
  • Must be a business oriented person
  • Ability to assure responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others
  • Estimate, plan and coordinate the project with SMS staff
  • Reviewing and following construction plans, specifications, and contract documents to estimate/manage projects
  • Attend pre-bid meetings with owners, architects, and engineers to accurately estimate projects and review scope of the projects
  • Help assist project field labor and materials for construction projects based upon your estimate
  • Coordinate all equipment, material, and subcontractor purchases and deliveries for the project
  • Track productivity of the manpower, inspect work for compliance and quality and take corrective action quickly to eliminate extra costs and document accordingly
  • Develop, review, and maintain project schedules and schedule of values
  • Identify and track all costs, identify and manage potential changes in scope of work
  • Develop and maintain quality relationships will Owners, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Follow up with customer to ensure satisfaction and look for feedback on ways to improve our delivery of the project
  • Perform construction site visits and attend regular project meetings on construction sites
  • Cost containment ideas with performance goals
