Serve as Senior Fund Manager for the Division of Hematology / Oncology and provide comprehensive analysis, fiscal and administrative management to the Division, under the direction of the Division Administrator. Manage all internal and extramural contracts and grant funding. Supervise and manage preparation of grant proposals and budgets. Supervise and manage grant application submission process. Supervise purchasing function and faculty support function. Provide liaison to all University entities necessary for the preparation of all contract and grant proposals.
Contact funding agencies to clarify and bring to complete resolution on any issues, questions or concerns of Researcher Faculty, Coordinate research activities, agency reports, special requests (i.e.re-budgeting; change of investigator effort) on behalf of Researcher Faculty. Compose, edit, and prepare written correspondence as requested by Research Faculty. Assist Research Faculty in implementation of new and ongoing activities of research administration including identification of problems and providing operational solutions. Assist Research Faculty in meeting time lines required by funding agencies. Provide Division Administrator with expertise and management to facilitate completion of research administration assignments.
Serve as divisional representative in all divisional, departmental, and campus contract and grant funding meetings. Provide financial analysis and long-range planning for all awards, to include faculty salaries, staff salaries, and related expenses. Oversee operations of post-award activation and administration. Review and recommend new administrative organizational policies and procedures to improve awards administration and overdraft minimization. Develop systemized accounting operations for contracts and grants management in the division. Provide proactive management to maintain accurate financial functioning and avoid overdrafts on Division controlled funds. Oversee the prompt resolution of financial management issues for the large portfolio faculty group within the Division.
Coordinate all fund activities of designated accounts from fund inception to closure such that financial activities and records do not deviate from approved policy and procedures. Process Transfer of Funds, No Cost Extensions and Request Approval Spend funds. Reconcile monthly ledgers, compile fiscal information to be used to prepare annual budgets, financial reports, statements and NSE forms, editing drafts, collaborating with investigators and gathering all the information necessary for proposal submission.
Salary Range: $5,400.00 – $11,466.67/Month
Required:
- Five years of direct Fund Manager experience.
- Skill in performing detailed accounting transactions in an area of constant activity, frequent interruptions and changing priorities
- Ability to prepare budgets and administer and monitor expenses charged to grants, endowments and various donors accounts.
- Ability to reconcile ledgers, recognize errors and adjust and corrections in a timely manner.
- Mathematical skills sufficient to prepare monthly financial reports via computerized spreadsheets and to recognize trends.
- Ability to monitor complex accounts consisting of multiple allocations within the overall fund and project interest credits and charges to various interest-bearing accounts.
- Knowledge of regulations relating to grant submission to various federal, state and private agencies.
- Knowledge of University financial structures, forms, and policies and procedures relating to contracts and grants and grants accounting.
- Demonstrated experience working with University, agency, and community partners in administrative and fiscal capacity.
