Environmental Scientist / Engineer
Westwood Professional Services, Inc.
Westwood Professional Services, Inc.is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join our team in our Wind and Solar team in our Minnetonka, MN office. This position will specifically support preparation of permitting documents, including Decommissioning Plans, Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) to support wind and solar energy projects. Westwood has a highly experienced and dynamic team of individuals dedicated to providing high-level professional services to our clients.





Duties and Responsibilities



Research local, state, and federal regulations to inform preparation of Decommissioning Plans for utility scale wind and solar projects
Perform quantity take-offs and prepare decommissioning cost estimates under guidance of engineers project managers
Design and write of SWPPPs and SPCC Plans for wind and solar construction projects
Provide professional and technical support to multiple Westwood projects at a time
Prepare construction permit applications
Day-to-day support for project managers






Required Experience



Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Zero to four years of professional experience
Ability to use spreadsheets to develop decommissioning cost estimates
Detailed documentation focus
Sound technical writing skills
Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) required
Flexibility to travel - specific to projects (Occasional 1-2 day trips to project sites)






Preferred Experience



Civil 3D and AutoCAD drafting experience
GIS experience
Experience with renewable energy projects
