Who Are We
The Earth Elements Design Center supplies high-end custom home interior finishes to the building industry. We are the complete one-stop shop for Appliances, Cabinetry, Doors and Door Hardware, Lighting, Slab, Tile, and Wood Flooring. We currently have three physical Showroom locations throughout the North-West Region however our business is rapidly expanding across America and the Caribbean with our proprietary state-of-the-art software solution. The Job
  • The Showroom Manager is responsible for increasing showroom revenues by successfully interacting with potential and current customers inside and outside of the showroom, through personal interaction, email, l and over the phone. This person is responsible for the showroom strategy and implementation for generating new business, maintaining existing relationships, and following up with the inside sales, sales development, and distribution team to ensure we are meeting and exceeding our clients’ expectations. Additionally, the Showroom Manager will oversee and is ultimately responsible for maximum sales and profitability through merchandise, inventory, expense control, human resource management, and managing operating costs.
  • Ensure that each client receives outstanding service by providing a client-friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging clients, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge, and all other components of customer service.
  • Responsible for oversight of all bids and estimates, to include: assignment of bids to divisions, follow-up with divisions to ensure receipt prior to deadline, sending the overall bid or estimate to the appropriate contacts.
  • Oversight of showroom organization and display to ensure product circulation and analyzing displays to include new or popular products are present within the showroom design.
  • Reviewing and analyzing trends to make recommendations to the product team for all showrooms.
  • Manages client relations with Builders, Designers, and Architects for the region.
  • High emphasis placed on sales development to create the strategy and work closely with the sales team to implement including maintaining relationships that exist, building new relationships in the field, and growth within the market.
  • Develops Saturday schedule for all showroom employees at minimum a week before the beginning of the month, if included.
  • Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies to include tradeshows and conferences.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-through, audits, etc.
  • Controls and shrinks expenses, payroll, and costs.
  • Achieves financial objectives by participating in the annual budgeting process, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
  • Reviews ongoing performance results to targets for sales staff and works to develop solutions or implements processes to support an increase in targets and goals.
  • Participates in developing and updating safety policies and procedures as it relates to the showroom.
  • Maintains a safe work environment and notifies the appropriate parties of any safety or maintenance issues that need to be addressed.
  • Notifies the HR Manager of any work-related incidences to ensure that proper safety procedures are followed.
  • Supervises sales manager, sales development, and warehouse manager positions directly, and associate positions indirectly.
  • Supervises and trains sales and warehouse personnel in the performance of assignments and responsibilities
  • Directs and/or assists in the performance of tasks when needed (i.e. unusual problems or questions, explaining procedures to new employees, escalated matters with clientele.
  • Reviews the work product of assigned divisions and personnel to ensure accuracy and completeness, using own discretion.
  • Interviews, hires, and manages performance of employees.
  • A successful applicant will have the following competencies: Business Acumen, Business Development/Strategy, Communication Proficiency, Customer/Client Focus, Decision-making, Ethical Conduct, Financial Management, and Leadership.
  • This position directly supervises the Divisional Managers within the showroom and distribution center.
  • This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, etc. Primarily inside in well-lighted, well-ventilated areas, but can at times be outside in external environments.
  • This is a sedentary role; however, lifting of approximately 25 pounds with occasional lifting of small objects and samples; sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, and finger dexterity.
  • Travel is primarily local, up to 2 hour driving distance during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected. Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, per insurance eligibility requirements.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or five years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years’ experience in supervisory positions, required
  • 5 years in a sales or business development capacity, required
  • 5 years’ experience in the building and/or construction industry, preferred
  • Good analytical skills, the ability to create compelling solutions that meet clients’ needs
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information and respond to questions from individuals in one on one settings
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Clean driving record, able to meet insurability qualifications
