position in a Health Care Company on the West side of Cleveland.


JOB CONTENT

Position Summary:

(Overall purpose of this position)

  • The Behavioral Health Independently Licensed Clinical Therapist will provide behavioral health services for Company patients. Clinical therapists will generally have a specialty with adults and/or a specialty with children, adolescents and families.

Essential duties and responsibilities which must be performed in order to carry out the position purpose summarized above:

  1. Provide screening, referral, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to Company patients who have been referred by their providers or other professional staff at Company for Behavioral Health (BH) and/or substance abuse problems.
  2. Provide individual and/or group BH therapy to patients of Company.
  3. Collaborate, coordinate, consult and provide immediate intervention (hot handoffs) on an ongoing basis with Company’s professional staff who provide primary and preventative care.
  4. Complete, in a timely manner, all required Electronic Medical Records (EMR) documentation and other paperwork (including chart records, forms for patients, collaborative forms, etc.) from Company and the BH department.
  5. As applicable, work with parents, guardians, spouses, schools and others to manage cases, provide communication and care coordination.
  6. Work closely with BH team to screen, assess, triage and manage all Company BH referrals.
  7. Assist the other BH staff in treatment of our clients, both individually and in group. This will also include case discussion, collaboration and planning.
  8. Actively participate in monthly BH clinical team meetings, bi-monthly team meetings and assigned Care Team meetings. In the former, to promote integration by serving as a liaison, resource and consultant for the BH department and to assist with communication and further develop medical knowledge base.
  9. Attend relevant training courses as assigned.

  1. Specific knowledge, training or skills required to perform the duties of this position. Specific concepts, courses, training programs or required certifications:

  • Masters in Social Work, Counseling, or related clinical field with at least two years’ experience.
  • Licensed in the State of Ohio and able to practice independently.
  • Willingness to enroll in insurance panels as needed by Company.
  • Demonstrated expertise in clinical areas needed to diagnose and treat Company patients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and as a team member of the behavioral health services department.

  • Normal medical office environment.
  • Evening or occasional weekend work.
  • Involves frequent contact with staff and patients.
  • Work will be stressful at times.
  • Requires walking, sitting and/or standing for long periods of time.
  • Some bending and stretching required.
  • Requires eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate computer keyboard.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record or prepare reports.
  • Requires some lifting papers or boxes up to 25 pounds.

 

REPORTS TO AND EVALUATED BY: VP of Behavioral Health or Senior Director of Behavioral Health

Shifts 

1st from 8:30 am to 5 pm
