Data Center Category Manager, Google Procurement

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in sourcing, category management, or procurement roles, managing indirect spend categories, or 6 years of experience with advanced degree.
  • Experience with sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations, with experience achieving cost savings and value creation.
  • Experience with contract drafting, review, and management, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards, and experience partnering with Contracting teams and cross-functional partners in this regard.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree or certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  • Experience analyzing procurement data, generating reports, and providing insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
  • Experience developing and managing KPIs/metrics to measure category performance and track progress.
  • Experience leveraging technology and analytical tools to enhance category management practices and drive data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to lead strategic projects aimed at improving processes, implementing new strategies, or driving innovation.

Within the Google Procurement Organization, the Category Management team partners closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement procurement strategies. The Category Team is responsible for developing and driving holistic category strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and bringing excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$191,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of category strategies aligned with organizational goals for assigned indirect spend categories.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support execution of sourcing strategies, RFx processes, negotiations, and supplier evaluations within designated categories.
  • Analyze spending patterns, market trends, and identify value opportunities within the category.
  • Analyze procurement data, generate reports, and provide insights to support decision-making and performance evaluation within the category.
