West Clermont Healthplex, managed by HealthFitness, is hiring for Youth Camp Counselors! Camp runs late May to early August. Be part of a fun-filled team, engage with kids, and learn valuable work skills.
Youth Camp Counselor, Batavia, OH
Monday-Friday role working 20-40 hours per week, Summer 2024
This role will lead, support, engage, and motivate youth in our activity programs. As a part of the Youth Program Staff team, you will have the opportunity to help develop youth programs and to lead and mentor program participants.
Start date May 13; Camp runs May 26-August 9.
Key Accountabilities:
Enthusiastically lead and support participants through program activities.
Monitor participants to ensure compliance with rules, prevent accidents, and identify inappropriate behaviors.
Proactively address and deescalate inappropriate behavior. Provide corrective direction to help participants learn appropriate actions and to make positive behavioral choices.
Work with program lead & staff to plan and coordinate activities.
Maintain, clean and ensure proper use of facilities and equipment.
Supervise children ranging from ages 5-12.
Play games and other activities with the children. Nurture sharing, sportsmanship and other social skills. Escort the children to the playground and ball fields.
Make sure the children are checked in and out by parents.
Other duties as needed/assigned.
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old.
Robust ability to actively lead and engage youth. Ability to be a positive role model for program participants.
Strong verbal communication skills with both children and adults. Active listing skills and ability to relate to and provide fun, engaging, safe activities for youth of different backgrounds.
Ability to work independently, problem solve, and make decisions with limited supervision.
Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED certification (obtained in person or blended)from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required prior to start date.
