General Description | This is a live-in student position responsible for facilitating the social, educational, intellectual, and cultural development of each student through developing a community within SFA’s residence halls. Responsible for articulating the philosophy and policies of the Residence Life Department and SFA to students while representing the department as a role model in all facets of university life. This position is assigned to floors/areas of approximately 25 to 55 students. Works under close supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities | The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Required Qualifications | The minimum education required for admittance as a student at Stephen F. Austin State University. Must be an active student in good academic standing (cumulative GPA of 2.3 or higher). No direct experience is required. Training and instruction will be provided. |
Preferred Qualifications | Two semesters of residence hall living or related experience is preferred. |
Physical Demands | Physical condition adequate to permit full performance of duties. |
Special Conditions for Eligibility | A student must be enrolled in six or more semester hours to be eligible for student employment during the fall or spring semesters. To be eligible for student employment during the summer, a student must be enrolled in three or more semester hours or be registered for courses in the upcoming fall semester. Student assistants may not hold any other type of position such as a graduate assistantship or temporary casual employment at the same time that they are employed as a student assistant. |
