Education/experience | Master’s degree in student affairs, student development, counseling, or related field and 3 or more years of experience in student affairs, military resource centers or similar work environment or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. |
Job Summary | The Director of the Military Resources Center is responsible for the leadership, mission, and overall administration of the Military Resource Center (MRC). The Director of the MRC will foster an inclusive and innovative culture that supports veteran and military-affiliated students. The Director is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of all MRC services and programs; recruitment, training and supervision of veteran and military-affiliated work study students; effective management and utilization of MRC budget and resources; provision of direct services, support and advocacy for veterans and military-affiliated students; policy development; strategic planning; collaboration with faculty and other constituencies; community outreach and education. |
Required Qualifications | Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with military resources and benefits, and/or veterans and military-affiliated students. Advanced project planning and program implementation and management abilities. Fiscal management experience. Ability to effectively hire, train evaluate and supervise professional, military-affiliated, veteran, and student staff members. Ability to develop positive advisory relationships with student veterans and military dependents. Ability to cultivate positive partnerships across an organization and foster a collaborative work environment. Ability to work independently as well as work with colleagues as a member of an office team. Proficiency in working with a computer and ability to learn and navigate usage of various software utilized by the University. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing demands and tasks. Available for evenings and weekends periodically/as needed. |
Preferred Qualifications | Experience working in a military and/or veteran resource center. Direct work experience with a military resource center in a higher education environment. |
