ABOUT THE JOB
Responsibilities
PSM/RMP Compliance: Act as the primary resource for the implementation and enforcement of all aspects of the Process Safety Management and Risk Management programs to include:
Review, update, and implement process safety and risk management related policies.
Manage PHA and compliance audits from start to finish. This may include coordinating site visits, preparing materials prior to visit, leading audits/PHAs at the facilities, developing draft and final reports, and providing technical guidance for recommendations.
Prepare and participate in Pre-Startup Safety and Operational Readiness Reviews.
Lead Management of Change (MOC) initiatives and provide follow up to ensure that agreed upon changes have been implemented and are in practice.
Lead investigations of process safety incidents, employing root cause analysis methodologies.
Develop and deliver process safety training.
Direct Hawkins personnel with the interpretation of regulatory requirements.
Identify process safety improvement opportunities through interactions with process safety stakeholders.
Track and report process safety leading and lagging indicators, key process safety metrics, action plans, and priority recommendations.
Make recommendations and implement new tools and work process improvements.
Analyze process safety incidents and near misses and develop recommendations to improve performance.
Stay up to date on PSM and RMP regulations and industry trends. Communicate changes to internal stake holders.
Emergency Response: Oversee the creation of applicable portions, auditing, and updating of all facility Emergency Response Plans. Participate in emergency response efforts, training, and periodic response drills.
Safety & Security: Assist HSE Team with implementing companywide initiatives, monitor and encourage safe work practices, and conduct periodic safety assessments at plant locations.
ABOUT YOU
BA/BS in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Health & Safety, or related field
5+ years of compliance experience
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Effective verbal and written communications skills for both internal and external audiences
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to consistently meet or exceed established deadlines and customer expectations
Can effectively work independently and as part of a team
Proficient with Microsoft Office software applications
24-hour HAZWOPER training preferred
Physical Requirements:
Able to sit, stand, bend, reach, ascend or descend stairs, and walk for extended periods of time in an office or manufacturing setting, including areas where conditions may include odors, varying temperatures, humidity, and moderate levels of noise
Ability to wear PPE such as a respirator and chemical suit for extended periods of time
Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
