Job Description:
MAJOR FUNCTION
The R&D Design Engineer position contributes to both new product development and current product support reporting to the Technical Team Manager. You will apply principles and techniques of mechanical engineering and analysis in designing components, systems, & mechanical functions for floor maintenance products including autonomous variants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Designs & documents components & systems using CAD

Develops engineering analysis & contributes to testing criteria & evaluation

Collaborates within a technical & cross functional team to ensure design meets requirements, providing the best balance of features, cost, & quality

Drives prototype construction and evaluation of design concepts
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering education.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mechanical design environment

Ability to support occasional travel
KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

Strong technical communication skills

Desire to work in an agile development manner and a collaborative team environment

Exposure to a variety of different component manufacturing methods

Results-oriented approach with execution at the right quality level for success

Solid decision making & problem-solving skills

Commitment to continuous learning & the 'fail quickly' design approach

Positive approach to engineering problems, and a willingness to have fun
COMPUTER SKILLS:

Computer savvy with expertise in MS Office (Excel, Teams, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Experience in Creo CAD modelling & Windchill data management

Working knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP
