Summary

This position is responsible to manage and lead the Maintenance and Facilities functions for all employees over three shifts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provides direct supervision to maintenance employees over 3 shifts. Responsibilities include hiring, performance management, training, corrective action, recognition and discipline/discharge

Establishes standards and policies for installation, modification, testing, operating procedure, inspection and maintenance of equipment such as the fire loop, emergency generator, compressors, power distribution, HVAC, process water, argon system, plumbing, production equipment, fork truck fleet, grounds and general facilities

Directs maintenance of plant buildings and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys and maintenance schedules for equipment and machinery

Job Duties:

Manages annual budgets, recommends capital expenditures; approve departmental expenses. Negotiates vendor contracts. Manages capital projects from planning through implementation

Conducts annual updates of OSHA required training. Ensures renewal of all required inspections and licenses pertaining to the facilities

Responsible for implementation of plant-wide preventive maintenance program; ensures compliance. Maintain data on equipment repairs and maintenance using data stream software

Facilitate and participate in implementation of plant-wide initiatives including safety improvements, TPM, general housekeeping, 5S, Six Sigma, etc.

Review and approve work performed by outside contractors for the maintenance of facilities and equipment. Ensures contractor and employees follow all company policies, all state and federal regulations including HAZMAT, OSHA, NFPA, etc.

Provide support to the manufacturing production facilities on current and new launch products and resolve technical issues

Develop training programs for individuals in electrical and maintenance groups to continuouslyimprove effectiveness of each group

Ability to weld metal parts, components or structures; able to use TIG welding equipment

Ability to fabricate, assemble or disassemble manufactured products by hand

Ability to understand technical operating, service or repair manuals

Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

Working knowledge of gages such as dial calipers, micrometers, indicators, etc.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Ability to interact with employees in a professional manner

Ability to speak and write English fluently

Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division quickly and accurately

Work & Education Requirements:

High school diploma or GED. Associates Degree preferred

Must possess or will be required to develop a good understanding of the Tenneco Quality System and TS-16949 & ISO 14001 regulations

Good computer skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and Power Point

Microsoft Project experience is required

Physical Demands

This position requires manual dexterity to properly and safely manipulate tools and controls. This position requires frequent walking and standing; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
