Job Description: |
Need 5 full-time, temporary, seasonal Livestock Workers to work at locations in Otter Tail and Stearns Counties in Minnesota. From: 12/23/2024 to 04/01/2025 Work: 40 hrs./week; Mon. - Fri. 8 hrs./day. 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A general work week is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Workers may be requested to work long days as well as on Saturdays, Sundays or Federal Holidays, depending upon the conditions of the commodities being produced. All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. At the employer's sole discretion, applicants may be offered higher than the advertised wage or possibly an end-of-season bonus.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Prepare calving facility. Calve out calves during the calving season. Medicate, vaccinate and treat for seasonal sicknesses. Care for newborn calves and nursing mothers during the winter and spring months when they require additional care due to fluctuating temperatures and seasonal sicknesses. Feed cattle during snowy/subfreezing periods when no seasonal pasturelands remain available for them to naturally graze upon. Add dry bedding. Clean pens. Remove snow from farm property. Break ice formation in water tanks daily. Fix and repair fencing damaged by drifting snow. Basic farm upkeep duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must have six months experience in working with Livestock. Driver's license in 30 days. Clean driving record required. No minimum education required.
EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies and equipment provided free of charge by employer.
