Job Description

 
Production Technician - Perform all tasks related to production of custom wire screens and screening product in a safe, efficient, and quality oriented manner. Work is done in a fast paced, team based environment, and includes hand assembly operations and operating machinery to meet exacting quality standards. All work is done in accordance to documented procedures, work standards , industry practices, and the Company employee handbook. <P> Duties - <LI> Use of tape measure, and ability to measure accurately . <LI> Perform product specific math, involving adding and subtracting of fractions. <LI> Setup and operation of metal shears, punch presses, and press brakes, using Lock out/Tag out procedures, and prescribed forming tooling. Setup and operation of wire straightening and crimping equipment, using Lock out/Tag out procedures, and prescribed forming tooling. Operation of custom manufacturing equipment to perform product line tasks. Documentation of quality inspection and labor records in accordance with procedures. <LI> Ability to read and comprehend job traveler, with all specific and pertinent details for each production order. <LI> Recognition and selection of raw materials specific to product lines to meet customer requirements (wire type, diameter, metal gauge). <LI> Maintenance of work area in a clean and orderly manner, relying heavily on 5S practices. <LI> Active involvement in safety inspections, walk through, and improvement projects May involve fork truck operation , with approval and licensing through internal programs. <LI> Other duties as assigned to support production and facility goals. <P> Major Skills - <LI> Competence and mastery of assigned work areas. <LI> Production Utilization and efficiency on both an individual and production area basis On time delivery of the production area and facility. <LI> Quality as measured in both customer returns and internal product scrap rates Attendance and Punctuality. <LI> Required Skills, Knowledge, and Ability: <LI> Ability to read a tape measure, and do math with fractions (1/16ths) Ability to work both individually and as a part of a team <LI> Must be detail oriented, quality conscious, and willing to make decisions to support the organizations positive quality reputation <LI> Ability to learn and retain new tasks and operations, and step between various duties in the job description seamlessly. <P> Requirements - <LI> Must have reliable transportation. <LI> Must comply with all company policies, including drug screening policy Must supply and maintain their own safety shoes. <LI> Drug Screening. <LI> Reference Check. <LI> Must meet position overtime requirements as schedule demands. <P> Physical Demands: <LI> The position works a 9 hour minimum day, 5 days per week , in a non-stationary shop environment. Duties involve standing and walking , and lifting product between 30 and 60 pounds. Product is generally lifted between floor and waist height, and majority of lifting as done as part of a two person team. Tables , lift carts, fork trucks, and cranes are available as needed.
