As an Intern/Practicum Student at our Day Treatment Programs, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the lives of children and their families through our successful mental health programs. You will be part of a caring and highly regarded staff at our Brooklyn Center or Hopkins locations.

Candidates must submit the following with their application:

A one to two page past written paper essay on a mental health topic or your philosophy on working with people.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Coordinate, participate in, and co-facilitate skills groups and help document all group sessions in case notes daily.
Help plan and present skills curriculum under the direction of the task supervisor.
Supervise youth during lunch, skills groups, and passing periods to maintain relationship building.
Creatively plan, attend and supervise activities, field trips, and outings.
Fill in for Behavioral Specialists when needed.
Promote relationship and problem-solving skills in client population.
Prepare for and participate in clinical consultation, staff meetings, and other business related meetings as needed/required for the program.
Follow and enforce all policies and procedures of the agency.
Maintain confidentiality of clients and client records.
Perform other duties as assigned by your task supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS

Active participation in Master's program for psychology, social work, family therapy or related field
Completion of Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, family therapy or related field.
Ability to work with adolescents and families.
Open to working with multi-disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams.
Commitment to minimum of nine months and at least 20 hours weekly for internship.
Ability to facilitate active skills and experiential learning.
Lift up to 25 lbs, extended periods of sitting, moderate physical activity
