Job Summary:  Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the environment while applying your engineering expertise? Look no further! Otak is actively hiring for an experienced Water Resources Project Engineer to join our growing team. Our team specializes in analysis and design of stormwater management, river/stream improvement, and stormwater planning projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. Our focus is to mitigate the environmental effects of new and existing development on watersheds by applying current sound science and state of the art engineering practices. You will collaborate with a team of 20 other Water Resource professionals in the Portland/Vancouver area.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a diverse array of water resource engineering projects spanning various communities throughout the region on a range of public and private sector projects. As time progresses, you'll gain experience in a wide range of areas, including surface water planning, green stormwater infrastructure, urban stormwater management, hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, roadway and private site drainage, fish passage, flood hazard mitigation, and the restoration of river/stream/wetland systems.

This position may be based out of our Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA office.

What you'll do:

Provide support for Stormwater and Green Infrastructure design and Natural Systems projects.
Collect, synthesize, analyze, and present data.
Prepare design drawings, specifications and cost and schedule estimates.
Generate reports for analysis, design, and permitting.
Perform GIS mapping and analysis.
Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.
Complete design calculations.
Construction engineering and site supervision.
Manage tasks on multi-disciplinary projects, including input on scope, schedule, and budget.
Collaborate in a multidisciplinary, team-driven setting, meet tight deadlines, and demonstrate independent work capabilities.
What you bring:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
Valid Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
4 or more years experience in Water Resources Engineering. Relevant professional work experience in hydrology, Low Impact Development (LID), hydraulic analyses, stormwater treatment, roadway drainage, or other similar emphasis is highly desired.
Demonstrated experience with the application of water resource models such as SWMM, HSPF, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), and SRH2D.
Proficiency with the preparation of construction documents for project designs and permits supported by hydrologic, and hydraulic calculations.
Working knowledge of ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation (not required, but a plus), Microsoft Office Suite.
