Job Description

"Unlock the world of Toolmaking excellence! As a Toolmaker, you'll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of plastic injection mold tools, ranging from simple,single cavity low volume to complex, multi-cavity high volume molds. This routinely includes disassembly and cleaning of these molds. Some of which can exceed thousands of pounds in weight and require lifting by an overhead crane to tables in the Toolroom where intricate and often delicate or expensive components are removed for inspection, repair, and cleaning. Picture yourself collaborating with a team of experts, and utilizing top-notch toolroom equipment like lathes, mills, and EDM machines to ensure product perfection.Starting Pay - Minimum $32.00/hour. Now offering a $2,000 sign on bonus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform/Assist with scheduled and emergency tooling repair, maintenance, cleaning and set-up of self-contained molds
Perform basic design functions for toolroom operations including repair and new build using Gibbs programming software
Inspect, build, and maintain tooling and part fixtures using turning, milling, and grinding operations
Set-up, and operation of CNC equipment, laser welder and EDM
Recommend changes to mold designs to improve life of the tooling and correct mold issues
Assist in troubleshooting of tooling on the production floor in the molding machines, and on the bench
Knowledge and understanding of tooling, tool room practices, and fabricating techniques
Working knowledge of hot runner tool function, and basic trouble shooting
Assist in the training of toolmaker apprentices
Complete purchase requisitions using ERP system
Participate in plant-wide safe

Qualifications

Two year degree/diploma in machine trades program
Minimum two years related experience
Knowledge of Creo design and/or other mold design packages
Strong mechanical aptitude
Strong mathematical skills
Strong organizational skills
