Position, Department: Assistant Professor, Emergency Medical Science BWA006, Academic Affairs
Type of Position: Full-time Faculty, Exempt
Work Schedule, Hours per week: varies, 40 hours per week
Pay Range: $60,787 - $102,698 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary:
- Primary instructional responsibilities encompass teaching EMS courses across all levels.
- Coordination duties involve managing clinical and field affiliate relations, providing student
counseling, supervising lab clinicians, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. - Instruct EMS courses as needed, including evening and weekend sessions when required.
- Develop course schedules and serve as the primary liaison between the program and clinical and field
internship agencies. - Collaborates with EMS faculty, the EMS Program Director, and allied health faculty to deliver exceptional learning experiences for students.
Twelve-Month Tenure-Track Faculty Position, Commencing Fall 2025
Required Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of EMS transport experience as a Paramedic or higher.
- Must hold a Kansas Paramedic license or licensure as an RN, PA, MD or DO.
- Associate degree or higher required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of instructional methods and teaching experience in delivering content, skills, instruction and remediation.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage students, faculty and clinical partners.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic educational environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years of experience as a Lead Instructor in initial EMS education, with documented graduate first-attempt NR pass rates of 70% or higher.
- Advanced Degree: Bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or related field.
- Professional Experience: Ten years of full-time EMS transport experience (or equivalent.)
- Instructor Certifications: Current BCLS, ACLS, and PHTLS instructor certifications.
- Teaching Track Record: Proven experience as a lead instructor in initial EMS education, with student NR pass rates consistently 70%.
