Location

This role is based in Wayzata, Minnesota, but we will also consider a remote location in the United States.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Plant Skills Development Manager is responsible for skills-based learning for plant employees within Cargill. They are focused on the global plant training experiences and curriculum for global operations strategic capabilities. In this role, you will analyze plant skill requirements in a production environment, design high-impact training strategies, build internal stakeholder commitment, develop deployment roadmaps, and collaborate to develop, launch, and govern the product implementation experience across learning programs and resources. You will partner closely with the essential teams and business stakeholders to ensure a prioritization of needs and effective deployment in function thereof while playing a key part to ensure employees and leaders across the company´s plants have access to relevant and effective learning opportunities that contribute to the professional growth and enhance performance of the plant.

Key Accountabilities

  • Create the learning product strategy and collaborate with key stakeholders to gather and prioritize the product backlog, align learning initiatives with business objectives, ensure the content meets the specific needs of employees, establish strong partnerships, and ensure roadmap alignment.

  • Create skills-based learning experiences for plant employees that align with the identified skill needs through a broad and innovative set of learning methods to enhance the skill development and performance of the employees.

  • Partner across essential teams to ensure effective delivery of the skills-based learning experience, including coordinating training sessions, monitoring the effectiveness of the content delivery methods, and making necessary adjustments to improve learner engagement and outcomes.

  • Develop evaluation mechanisms to measure the effectiveness and impact of the learning content and collect feedback from various stakeholders to identify additional changing plant skills requirements, areas for improvement, and make iterative enhancements to the learning materials.

  • Leverage learning technology platforms and tools to enhance the delivery and accessibility of the learning content and partner with the essential team to stay updated on the latest learning technologies and tools and identify opportunities to integrate them into instructional design and delivery.

  • Assess and continuously improve the plant skills-based learning content to ensure its relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness and stay updated on industry trends and best practices in skills development to incorporate innovative approaches into the learning materials.

  • Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to understand their requirements, gain support, and ensure the alignment of skill learning initiatives with organizational goals as well as effectively communicate the value and impact of the skills-based learning content.

  • Provide expert thought leadership in your field and work with limited direction, using additional research and interpretation to identify issues or problems. You may provide direction to supporting team members and be a strategic contributor.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of six years of related work experience [training or learning & development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or other post-secondary degree

  • Professional certification in learning and development

  • Experience working in a production environment or supporting a production-focused team

  • Experience building technical training experiences and curriculum

  • Strong project management, change management, communication, and influencing skills

  • Independent, self-starting thought leaders with a proven track record of developing and implementing successful and sustainable training programs in a globally complex environment

  • Ability to collaborate with matrixed leadership teams, present and influence innovative learning & development strategies

Additional Information

Compensation

The expected salary for this position is $120 - $145K. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
