Software Development Engineer, SPS Core Services

Job ID: 2621027 | Amazon.com Services LLC

DESCRIPTION

The Core Actions team within the Selling Partner Services (SPS) WW Core Services organization is responsible for developing the Action Taking System (ATS). ATS is a unified pipeline that enables programs across SPS and other organizations to make Amazon a safe place to do business for our sellers and buyers. We build services that enable automated risk detection (including support for various flavors of ML models from rule based to LLM models), treatment planning, action execution, and inbound/outbound communications. Our newer services are built on native AWS stack in a serverless architecture, providing operational efficiency, scalability, and cost effectiveness. Our customers include Amazon’s Selling Partners, Buyers, Amazon Investigators, various Program Owners, and Science teams.

In this role, you will be a key owner within our software engineering team, executing on our 3 Year Architecture Plan (3YAP) and launching strategic initiatives. You will own one or more services/components and will collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Scientists from other teams to help deliver various features of the ATS, driving design decisions with cross-org impact and improving operational efficiencies of the system to scale with new use-cases.

Key job responsibilities
As an experienced Software Development Engineer, you will take ownership of one or more services in the ATS architecture.

You will build new features into the ATS architecture, as well as help teams across SPS deprecate redundant systems, thus driving convergence on ATS.

You will participate in the design, development, implementation, testing and documentation of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using Java, Object Oriented Design and Distributed Programming.

You will contribute to the team’s sprint planning cycles, design reviews, code implementation, testing and operations processes.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
