SUMMARY The Electronic Technician will modify, repair, and improve existing electronic products, equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated electronic systems, components or products. FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB Essential Functions: 1. Performs assigned duties and acts in a manner that adheres to company safety policies and practices. Helps to maintain a safe work environment. 2. Attend daily maintenance meeting to determine work schedule, prepares required documentation. 3. Supports the goals and objectives through adherence to company policies and displays teamwork in meeting company objectives. 4. Repairs, installs, and inspects electronics or electronic systems as directed through verbal or written directions diagrams, drawings, or specifications. 5. Maintains and makes necessary operating adjustments to the organizations electronic systems. 6. Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs. 7. Ensures local, state, and national electrical codes are followed and proper materials are used throughout electrical systems. 8. Creates or adapts parts as needed to make repairs and improve the performance of various systems. 9. Responsible for setting up power supply; conduit and wiring for currently installed equipment and machines, including programmable controllers, while adhering to blueprints, electrical ethics, utilizing voltage tester and hand tools. 10. Perform replacement on diagnosed faulty electrical elements of machine including motors, relays, and switches; and set up sensing mechanism, utilizing hand tools. 11. Carry out diagnosis and correct or replace malfunctioning electronic units like the printed circuit boards. 12. Carry out diagnosis and ensure replacement of pneumatic, mechanical, hydraulic components of equipment and machines which are faulty. a. Machinery and equipment includes, but not limited to: i. Plastic container molding machinery ii. Water chillers iii. Air compressors iv. Special trimming and deflash equipment v. Material loading equipment vi. Material grinding equipment vii. Machine shop equipment viii. Labelling equipment 13. Troubleshoot and solve problems with equipment to minimize production downtime 14. Perform other building and grounds maintenance tasks (i.e. recycling, cleaning, insect/rodent control, etc.) 15. Maintain systems- HVAC/ Vacuum/water treatment 16. Document equipment repairs, cleaning, preventive maintenance, calibrations, etc. and complete all required paperwork 17. Fabricate chutes, rails, and other components necessary that make production lines efficient POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Education: At least two years Electrical Certification. or affiliated experience of at least five years with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude. Experience: Five years electrical/ electronic experience with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude $35.00 per hour with right experience.
