Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – 2182-1. This position will be located in Huntsville, Alabama and will support the Sentinel program.
The selected engineer will be responsible for supporting a team of engineers to define, develop, decompose, analyze, verify, and validate requirements for the
Command-and-Control Cyber Security Engineering Team. This role will also participate in ensure the secure design and implementation of the Command-and-Control.

Integrating network devices with monitoring and management software. Conducts testing of network and software tools. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network, hardware, and software such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Ultimately, this role with serve as a liaison between the MBSE focused systems engineering teams, and the software development teams providing cyber network security expertise and guidance.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer: 09 Years with Bachelor’s in related field of study, 07 Years with Masters, 04 Years with PhD or 04 additional years in lieu of a degree.
- US Citizenship with Active DoD Top Secret clearance - a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (i.e., Security+, etc.)
- Understanding of network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
- Experience designing load balancing and proxy appliances.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university.
- Detailed knowledge of Command-and-Control systems and mission objectives.
- Working knowledge of Risk Management Framework in a Defense and counterintelligence Security Agency (DCSA) accredited environment.
- Understanding of Model Based Systems Engineering practices.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Familiarity with distributed version control software (Git, Mercurial).
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming), Scaled Agile Framework – SAFe for Lean Enterprises.
