JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT

Cargill’s InfoCenter is seeking a collaborative and experienced Information and Data Contract and Vendor Management Specialist to join a global, diverse, and dynamic team of information professionals. Cargill’s need for licensed information continues to grow, especially in the trading and trading risk management space. This position will allow you to be a leader and consultant, making a substantial impact on how we manage contracts and licensing structures, maximizing strategy in leveraging external data resources. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by keeping in front of industry trends; like impact of vendor mergers and acquisitions, evolution of information provision channels, use of Artificial Intelligence, etc.

Your responsibilities will include but aren't limited to researching and identifying sources of information that meet business needs, across different commodities, latencies (real-time to historical), sources, and information types (exchange feeds to news and analysis), leading the acquisition, driving appropriate contract / licensing structures, maximizing strategic value of the information within our business activities. You will be aligning contractual terms with use and distribution of information to ensure licensing compliance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Manages vendor relationships and information resource contracts.

  • Negotiates favorable information resource license agreements.

  • Works closely with InfoCenter staff, vendors and business partners to optimize Cargill’s information spend (the right resources at the right price with the broadest access for the enterprise).

  • Primary contact for vendor, contract and resource usage questions.

  • Manages relationships with vendor and partners with Law Department on negotiating terms and conditions, usage, price, and contract details.

Leads content acquisition lifecycle processes, partnering with colleagues, Law, IT, Technology Governance Risk and Control and other partners as required.

  • Coordinates implementation of new subscriptions – solution design, setup/implementation, access methods, consumption type, risk & controls.

  • Manages vendor support from a content perspective, coordinating IT requirements, usage reporting, user compliance, joint venture access and legal compliance.

Partner with businesses to identify the best resources to support their work.

  • Gain deep intimacy with internal Cargill clients to understand focus area of research requests and data needs.

  • Utilize broad knowledge of business trends/issues to proactively provide updates on resources and tools.

Conduct complex business information research.

  • Analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting results - under minimal supervision, requiring deep understanding of complex business issues using traditional & non-traditional data sources which typically do not exist through direct research and requires indirect retrieval from multiple sources with thorough interpretation & analysis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in library science, information science or related fields (or at least 5 years equivalent work experience in contracting for data and information resources)

  • Three years or more of progressively responsible professional-level information experience

  • Must have market data information and contract licensing and rights management experience

  • Thorough knowledge and demonstrated application of information management principles and practices, including ability to evaluate, analyze and summarize contractual information

  • Familiarity with Information Technology management and systems, tools and processes enabling effective collaboration with Digital Technology and Data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Global project management experience

  • Deep knowledge of business information resources relevant for Cargill’s industries. (e.g., Bloomberg, LSEG / Refinitiv, S&P Global / S&P Platts, Euromonitor, Innova, Nielsen, Factiva, EMIS)

  • Demonstrated ability to understand business drivers and anticipate information needs to leverage or create solutions that deliver broader corporate or cross-business value

  • Deep knowledge of relevant industries and their resources, information management technologies and systems

  • Deep analytical expertise coupled with business acumen and attention to detail

  • Problem solving/critical thinking, and structured / disciplined approach to documenting thought process(es)

  • Interpersonal, team leadership and client relationship management skills in a multinational environment

  • Ability to plan and work both independently and collaboratively, and to prioritize multiple assignments and tasks

  • Inquisitive mind, willing to explore alternatives

Compensation Details

The expected salary for this position is $90K+ - in the U.S. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.

Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave

Minnesota Sick and Safe Leave accruals of one hour for every 30 worked, up to 48 hours per calendar year unless otherwise provided by law.
