Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research-Birnbaum Lab, to be involved in cutting-edge projects aimed at understanding and engineering immune responses against cancer and infectious disease. To accomplish this, lab projects utilize a combination of protein engineering, molecular biology, bioinformatics, and molecular and cellular immunology. Responsibilities will include mammalian and insect cell culture, creation of new DNA constructs via PCR and related techniques, lentivirus and protein preparation, and protein engineering. Additional responsibilities include tracking and ordering laboratory supplies and performing general laboratory upkeep and support.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  B.S./B.A. in biochemistry, biological engineering, chemical engineering, molecular biology, or a related discipline; at least two years of lab experience (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate); and excellent organizational and written and verbal communication skills.  PREFERRED:  experience with molecular biology and cell culture techniques and independent research experience. Job #23827
