Queen’s North Hawaii Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela), Hawaii Island. Responsibilities

 

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•  Prepares and performs echocardiographic and vascular examinations on patients and collaborates with physicians on examinations.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•  Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, sitting, standing.
•  Continuous:  reaching at or below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motion, static gripping of object for prolonged.  . 
•  Frequent:  stooping/bending, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 20 pounds of force. 
•  Occasional:  kneeling, climbing stairs, squatting, lifting and carrying weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
•  Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
•  Subjected to inside environmental condition (i.e., low light setting).
•  Exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
•  Must be able to adjust schedule for “on-call” coverage involving, but not limited to, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A.  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
•  Board registered by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), or by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS).
•  Current BLS certification.
•  ACLS certification desired. 

EXPERIENCE:
•  Prior recent experience as a cardiac and/or vascular sonographer in an acute health care facility preferred.
•  Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems and make decisions.
•  Ability to prioritize multiple assignments/projects and respond to numerous requests and work collaboratively with other members of the healthcare team.
