Position Description

This is a non-civil service position located in the Davidson County Residential Drug Court (DC4). DC4 is a court-supervised program that provides a continuum of alcohol, drug, and other treatment and rehabilitation services. This position provides limited medical service to the participants of the program. This position reports directly to the Drug Court Program Director and the consulting Medical Director.  

This position is Part-Time, less than 20 hours weekly. 

Typical Duties

  • Maintains medical files on program participants
  • Triage participants and refer accordingly
  • Provides initial history and vitals on new program participants
  • Schedules participants for Physician/Nurse Practitioner and Psych Nurse Practitioner
  • Schedules outside medical/dental appointments as needed
  • Ensures medication boxes are filled correctly
  • Maintains adequate supply of medications ( Rx and OTC)
  • Reports medical needs of participants to Physician/NP
  • Attends court and staff meetings as needed
  • Attends training and workshops as needed
  • Prepare monthly report of medications and drug tests
  • Other assigned duty as directed

Minimum Qualifications

  • MUST have current RN license in Tennessee
  • MUST have own liability insurance
  • A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience (experience working with criminal offenders preferred)
  • A valid driver’s license
