Facilities Manager



Description
Starting Salary $100,872 - $130,140, plus benefits for full-time employees that include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, paid time off, 401k and Employee Stock Ownership Plan.
Summary:

The Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by ensuring our buildings, equipment, and grounds are properly maintained in order to achieve the goals of our company. This includes prioritizing, documenting, hiring and supervising building service personnel to actively manage buildings and grounds maintenance and projects. The Facilities Manager drafts, plans, directs, coordinates, and repairs Van Meter's multi-location facilities, equipment, and grounds to minimize interruption and improve efficiency. In addition, this individualpartners with leaders in planning and budgeting the design and development of facilities, formulation of operating procedures for use in the event of accidents, fires, or other emergencies. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
Provides oversight and ensures all buildings and grounds are properly maintained
Manages general building and grounds repairs & maintenance by determining when to use a 3rd party or when to fix the repair themselves
Negotiates contracts, hire and supervise maintenance, repair, renovation or cleaning staff
Collaborates and leads project team(s) and or vendor(s) related to building and grounds projects while being mindful of the company culture
Responsible for developing a plan annually for capital improvements and budgeting
Supports operational automated (smart) equipment i.e. Conveyor Systems, Wire Machines, Speed Pull machinery
Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance inspections to determine repairs, replacement, or improvements needed
Responsible for facility design using Computer Aided Desing software (CAD) while maintaining versioning
Negotiates with vendors and submits bids for services
Works with the Safety Manager to aid in the safety and security of building operations and assist IT with end of wire security installation
Develops & manages major projects related to facilities, including infrastructure.
Maintains adequate parts inventory and orders items as needed
Provides company communication on facilities and/or facility safety related information
In collaboration with Safety Manager ensures building compliance with federal, state and local safety laws and regulations

Job Requirements/Specifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 7 years' experience in Facilities Project Management required
Solid understanding of efficiently maintaining buildings and grounds
Advanced proficiencies in building trades including painting, plumbing and equipment repair
Experience with commercial building construction is required
Experience with commercial electrical (low and high voltage) design and installation is required
Experience with commercial building HVAC systems is required
Experience with automated electrical controls design and installation is required
Previous leadership experience preferred
Demonstrated computer skills, specifically strong Excel skills
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Contract and negotiation experience required
Ability to lift 100 lbs. on a frequent basis
Demonstrated experience in OSHA, safety compliance, and safety best practices preferred
Ability to operate lift truck equipment - preferred
