PURPOSE/SCOPE:
Develops and implements Tennant Holland Operations' Safety, Environmental, Security, and Hazmat programs based on corporate guidelines. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations that apply to Tennant Operations while also performing EHS audits and assessments to prevent environmental, safety and hazmat related incidents. Reports back to EHS Manager issues or concerns that require assistance.
GENERAL RESPONISIBILITIES:
Works alongside Holland Operations management to implement Tennant EHS program/policy
Using Tennant EHS policies/procedures as guidelines, customizes business policies/procedures to meet applicable requirements
Review and Update EHS trainings based on changing regulatory and corporate guidelines.
Sets and reviews training calendar/curriculum and works with L&D to facilitate content around safety topics/program.
Customize/develop toolkits to streamline EHS processes
Conducts applicable environmental regulatory permitting, reporting and other day-to-day activities (i.e., recordkeeping, waste pick-ups, sampling)
Implements and conducts EHS audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Tennant standards
Performs various assessments (i.e., hazard assessment, ergonomic assessments, etc.)
Tracking, reporting, and communicating EHS metrics to Holland Operations leadership
Collaborates with EHS team around program/policy updates and regularly communicates results/events to the EHS Manager
Conducts incident and injury reviews
Ensures closure of action items deemed necessary from near-miss, incident, or injury reviews
Fosters relationship with applicable regulatory agencies
Communicating to EHS department applicable regulatory changes that may affect corporate strategies
Responsible for Holland Operations Safety Data Sheet program and compliance
Serve as subject matter expert for safety related documentation requests from customers
Assist Customer Contract's business partners with 3rd party contract and portal related inquiries
Ensure accurate and timely completion of customer-required documentation, including but not limited to Safety related requests, Vendor documents, and other general informational requests
Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in safety, chemistry, biology, or related technical fields PLUS 5+ years of experience dealing with safety, environmental and Hazmat issues preferably within an industrial or regulatory setting.
OR
7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or similar environment with experience in managing or handling safety/environmental issues.
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
Working knowledge of safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations/procedures.
