Job Summary



Serve as primary offensive assistant coach under the direction of the head football coach. Lead offensive staff and coordinate all aspects of the offense. Assist the head coach as requested in recruiting, program development, culture building, and all facets of the football program, within a Christ-centered department and institution.





Responsibilities



Serve as the primary leader of all facets of leading the Offense. Including, but not limited to:
Offensive game planning.
Practice planning.
Practice implementation.
Organizing and scripting practice and game plans.
Offensive staff leadership.
Offense and position group meetings.
In-game leadership of the offense.
Take a leadership role within the football staff in recruiting student-athletes who are a good fit to the institution and have the capacity for high caliber play within the NCAA Division III landscape.
Mentor, disciple, and develop student-athletes - this is to be integrated in all facets of the role.
Foster and engage in departmental relationships and adhere to all NCAA, MIAC, and institutional rules, policies, and expectations.
Auxiliary role as designated by the department of athletics - currently working with compliance.
Assist the head coach as requested in logistics, administrative tasks, fundraising, and alumni engagement.






Required Skills



Demonstrated effective leadership and communication skills.
Demonstrated strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept.
Demonstrated effective recruitment strategies.
Ability to organize and implement effective game and practice strategies.
Working knowledge of NCAA, MIAC and institutional rules and regulations.
Playing and coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
Knowledge of sports management.
Demonstrated ability to work alongside of students in a cooperative and collaborative style.
Self-motivated and detail oriented.
Demonstrated organizational and problem solving abilities.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.






Experience



Required Experience:
2+ years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
Preferred Experience:
4+ years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.






Education



Required Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor's degree.
Master's degree.






Additional Information



Requires active participation of administering practices and games.
Requires evening and weekend work.
Requires extended hours of work during the in-season of the sport.
The assistant coach is expected to mentor student athletes in their holistic development, including nurturing their spiritual formation, giving attention to their physical well-being, monitoring their academic progress, and facilitating a team culture that produces vitality resulting in a high level of student athlete satisfaction and competitive success.
