MATERIALS SPECIALIST- 2nd SHIFT
COLUMBIA CITY, IN - PLANT

This position will be part of the materials aspect of the business and directly interface with the entire department, external suppliers and all other departments as needed. The Materials Scheduler is part of the Materials department and reports to the Materials Manager.

The Role:
  • Load and analyze customer demand and advise management of possible risks.
  • Organize and maintain materials department files on paper and in the system.
  • Contact vendors concerning material related issues.
  • Complete cycle count process as outlined by the Materials Manager.
  • Report monthly measurables.
  • Track inbound shipments.
  • Provide work instructions to the Materials Specialists and Material Handlers.
  • Review inventory levels to assure material availability.
  • Pull, verify, and report GM production requirements.
  • Assist with the processing of defective material, returns, scrap, and miscellaneous inventory adjustments and printing related reports.
  • Interface with material systems for maintenance.
  • Reconciliation with the customer and suppliers.
  • Maintain listing of current supplier and customer contacts.

Your Qualifications:
  • Associate degree (AA/AS received or in progress)
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in various multiple situations.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Bonus If You Have:
  • Materials/inventory experience helpful but not required
  • JIT experience is helpful but not required
  • LEAN manufacturing experience helpful but not required
