Nursing Supervisor - Nursing Administration - 24 hrsJob Description:
Primary Responsibilities
Assesses the staffing needs on the nursing units and provides the appropriate staff.
Acts as a resource person for clinical issues and patient-care problems.
Maintains high visibility on the nursing units to reinforce identity as a role model.
Collaborates with physicians and the Admitting Department to determine the appropriate placement of patients with regard to the level of nursing care required.
Acts as a representative of hospital administration to resolve hospital-wide, department-wide administrative issues on evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Acts as a liaison between nursing and other departments to resolve issues to facilitate the smooth running of patient-care activities.
Provides feedback to the directors and nurse managers regarding staff, patient care, and administrative issues that arise on the off shifts and participates in follow-up as needed.
Assists the nursing staff in the rendering of patient care as necessary.
Assists the staff in interpreting and observing nursing and hospital policies and procedures.
Provides informal teaching to the nursing staff.
Participates in professional meetings, hospital-based committees, organizations, or research activities to network and support personal and professional advancements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing. M.S.N. with nursing management experience and/or clinical specialists preparation.
Current licensure from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Three years of progressive nursing experience, preferably including supervisory experience.
Knowledge and skill in interpersonal relations.
Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and perform other strenuous activities as needed.
