Division Information
PACCAR's Information Technology Division (ITD), located in Renton, WA utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector.
Requisition Summary
You will get to be part of a team that focuses on vehicle software delivery for our PACCAR Trucks! PACCARs' Information Technology Division, which serves both Kenworth and Peterbilt, has an opening for an Electrical Technician. We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic team! This individual will work closely with our testing, development, and engineering groups to ensure our Electronic Control Unit (ECU) test benches are ready to perform validation testing for our current and next generation Heavy and Medium Duty truck programs, including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV).
This position is located in Renton, WA.
Job Functions/Responsibilities
Review ECU and wire harnessing architecture designs with component system owners to assess test bench needs.
Coordinate with team members on hardware procurement with a long-term roadmap in mind.
Maintain and manage our hardware asset inventory.
Collaborate with third-party vendors on new bench construction with a focus on innovative design and versatility
Work across Engineering Divisions to collaborate and share best practices to ensure efficiency across bench designs and truck architecture challenges.
Proactively maintain existing hardware and bench setups.
Upfit current benches as hardware revisions progress.
Troubleshooting and repairing as needed.
Create additional wiring harnesses as needed to support the test team.
Actively coordinate and collaborate with program stakeholders regarding scope, budget and timelines.
Manage risks, issues, and impediments in a project and escalate in a timely manner.
Embody and promote PACCAR ITD values of Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, Commitment, Openness and Learning.
Assist in software application validation in the programming of electronic control units.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience as a hands-on Electrical Technician.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with practical experience in the operation and use of standard test and measuring instruments as well as power supplies.
Demonstrated ability to layout system interconnect diagrams and interface requirements.
Experience with electronic systems schematic interpretation, electrical circuit design principles, and lab and equipment troubleshooting.
Hands-on experience in various types of wiring harness tools and connectors.
Strong computer skills including project management tools, word processing, flowchart/modeling, presentation, and spreadsheets.
Quick learner who is willing to ramp up and use new quality processes, engineering techniques and be resourceful in solving complex technical problems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Adaptability toward changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
Automotive electronic systems engineering skills including multiplex communication systems (CAN/J1939), architecture, and control system design and analysis.
Familiarity with systems engineering design practices.
Experience in Agile Scrum framework and Azure DevOps.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience in this field required.
