Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join our team!
Responsibilities
- Report to Independence Tooling Operations Manager & work under guidance from CNC Leader
- Set up and operate mills and/or computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts
- Plan machining processes based on work orders and blueprints
- Set up mills by tramming/indicating vices and work material
- Ensure accurate alignment for efficient machining
- Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to maintain safe operations
- Complete preventive maintenance requirements for equipment
- Document actions, irregularities, and continuing needs to maintain continuity across work shifts
- Review 3D CAD designs and determine programming steps, including material cutting locations
- Convert instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) program
- Determine job order and perform associated calculations
- Compose and revise programs for increased efficiency
Qualifications
- Experience with CNC machining and programming
- Experience running Tarus 3+2 machines preferred
- Programming experience, preferably in WorkNC.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controllers
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, with the ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, automotive or defense industry is a plus
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office programs
