Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Water Resources Engineering Intern, we'll count on you to:
Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local clients
Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design
Focus on civil design and development of construction documents for water resources and stormwater projects
Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies
Perform limited field work as required by current project load
Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program related to the field of water resources engineering
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Desire to learn new technical skills related to the field of water resources engineering
Basic Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications
3 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
Completion of a previous internship in the field of water resources engineering
Experienced with software platforms such as AutoCAD, Microstation, ArcGIS, and hydraulic modeling software
Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to water resources engineering
Preference given to local candidates
