Job Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Perform tests on components and systems.
- Conducts analysis or tests of new designs, methods, materials or processes and provides recommendations.
- Selection of components to guidelines provided.
- Creates limited design specifications.
- Interacts with Mechanical Engineering team to assist in designing new features to equipment.
- Routine design, modification and evaluation of mechanical systems used in electromechanical equipment.
- Light sub-assembly duties.
- Provide information transfer from Engineering to other departments.
- Help prepare plans, specifications and cost estimates.
- Demonstrate an 80/20 focus in decision making process and develops broader outside thinking and customer focus.
- Drive results while modeling ITW values. Complete projects effectively and consistently and deliver on individual objectives. Identify opportunities for improvement.
- Interacts with all engineering disciplines to assist and test new design changes and configurations to equipment.
- Seek continuous personal development and training. Share skills and knowledge with teammates.
- Work collaboratively with others, communicating effectively and motivating others to work hard through their own example. Demonstrate self-awareness and hold self and others accountable for living the ITW culture and values.

Required Skills/Experience
- Basic mechanical design skills including solid modeling and documentation.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Good problem-solving capabilities.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work comfortably on both individual and team-oriented projects.
- Experience with the use of measurement equipment calipers, micrometers and other quality measurement devices
- Ability to assemble mechanical systems with machine integration.
- Willing to learn and expand knowledge of the electronic assembly equipment industry.
- Knowledge of Solidworks CAD package.
- Computer skills should include basic PC operation within a MS Windows environment. Specific application experience includes MS Word and Excel.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Basic Mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge motion systems
- Knowledge of extreme heat in machine design.
- Knowledge of Basic Flow and Pressure in piping systems.
- Knowledge of basic heat transfer.
Education
- BS in Mechanical Engineering and possibly some work experience.
