NOTICE OF JOB VACANCY
Job Title: GIS Planner (Help Program) - No Exam Required

The work involves responsibility for the creation and maintenance of the Geographic Information System (GIS) for use in county and municipal planning. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Planning. Does related work as required.

Work Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week, with benefits
Salary: $27.2911-34.5436/HR (CSEA Union)
Location: Cortland County Planning
Status: Non-Competitive, probationary

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
(a) Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in geographic information systems, geography, engineering/architecture, computer science, urban planning or closely related field and one (1) year of work experience implementing and administering computerized mapping and assessment systems or GIS; OR

(b) Possession of an Associate’s degree or higher in one of the above fields and three (3) years of work experience as defined in (a); OR

(c) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).

NOTE: Degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If the degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, applicant must provide independent verification of equivalency.
