Day (United States of America)Oversees Core operations on a daily basis and will meet with investigators and core customers at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and other research institutions. May delegate work to other research staff within the Core and collaborates with research investigators in the design and analysis of experiments requiring this technology. Mentors junior level research assistants within the Core Facility.Job Description:
Oversees and coordinates the daily operation of the Core. Instructs researchers on the operation of the instrumentation for their individual applications. Collaborates with Principal Investigators (PIs) and their researchers in the design of methods and experimental procedures utilizing the instrumentation. Remains current in the technologies used in the lab and participates in improving scientific operations of the lab/office. Recommends and implements changes. May negotiate with prospective sponsors and collaborating institutions. Must have full understanding and ability to explain research plans thoroughly including goals, methods and design. Coordinates the work of research personnel; implements research schedules and ensures the quality of lab procedures. Ensures staff compliance to lab safety guidelines and accurate record keeping. May oversee lab equipment needs, inventory and the ordering of common lab supplies.FLSA Status:
