Job Summary
The Laborer (USDA – Meat Production) is responsible for a wide variety of duties, including
meat processing and packing, general cleaning (mopping, wiping down surfaces, emptying
trash, etc.), in addition to other duties and projects as assigned.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Reviews daily work schedule, completing all orders for production and processing.
• Safely operates all machinery, including but not limited to mixers, chippers, grinders,
slicers, saws, and vacuum stuffers.
• Follows required USDA protocols to prevent food contamination, including but not
limited to proper storage, thawing, and processing.
• Ensures machines are properly cleaned before, during, and after processing to prevent
cross contamination and allergen spread.
• Properly disposes of all unusable product in designated inedible luggers and barrels
(bone barrels).
• Takes product temperatures according to required schedule and logs them on the
corresponding forms.
• Completes all product specification documentation, including weights, temperatures,
ingredients, etc. daily.
• Makes boxes and labels them according to the daily work schedule needs.
• Wears the required clothing for food handling – i.e., gloves, hairnets, beard nets, coats
(blue for cooked, white for raw), aprons, and non-slip shoes.
• Regularly informs management when supplies are running low – i.e., boxes, film, labels,
etc.
• Restocks stick packaging machines with film and labels as needed.
• Communicates with team members and supervisors prior to taking breaks/lunch.
• Cleans the production area and sanitizes machines at the end of use.
• Is responsible for general labor duties such as emptying trash, wiping down food
preparation surfaces, mopping, etc.
• Accurately packs finished product according to specifications and prepares for shipping.
• Is reliable and punctual in reporting to work as scheduled.
• Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

Education & Experience
• High school diploma or GED preferred; not required
• Previous experience preferred; not required

• Continuous standing and bending
• Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling
• Dexterity and the ability to use hands and fingers to assemble
