    DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
    The EPIC REVENUE CYCLE OPERATIONS is a shared services department working across all of UW Medicine’s entities.

    PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs the daily activities performed by Patient Access Services staff, including Admitting, Financial Counseling, Financial Clearance, ED Registration and other related services at each UW Medical Center hospital registration locations
  •   This position is responsible for managing the system-wide patient access application issues that require impact and root cause analysis and recommends and implements standard solutions as appropriate
  • The responsibility for leading system-wide workflow standardization and process improvement initiatives for patient access applications and site-based workflows/procedures/tools is key to this position
  • This role is responsible for working with a diverse group of people from all UW Medicine entities to analyze, identify new features for new version upgrades to Epic and research and recommend new process solutions for the functions in Patient Access
  • This position requires timely knowledge of new and more effective processes and technology to ensure processes are compliant and consistent with the implementation of new services and applications that are used to support and further the mission of patient care, research and teaching
  • Develops and maintains interdepartmental relationships and partner with multiple disciplines across all facilities to enhance/support revenue cycle operations
  • Leads the Patient Access Committee efforts and activities; ensure team meetings are effective, team work is accomplished as agreed and issues are surfaced and addressed

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor Degree, any of the business, management, analytical sciences or equivalent experience
  • 10 years in Patient Access leadership
  • Strong current Epic Patient Access experience (familiarity with Epic, including EPIC Clarity and/or Workbench reports and/or Slicer Dicer)

  • Demonstrated excellence in both internal and external customer interaction and written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer focus and management of customer expectations; ability to establish and maintain a high level of user trust and confidence in a variety of groups
