Here, you will make an impact by:Providing direct and/or indirect package engineering services to assigned operating units through package design, development and scale-up based on customer requirements and expectations.Organizing the implementation of existing and new package designs including testing, evaluation, presentation, and recommendation of results.Investigating opportunities to decrease packaging material cost and increase process efficiencies.Evaluating various packaging options to improve sustainability and circularity of packaging components.Contributing to the growth and continued success of multiple different product lines and business groups within 3M.Your Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in engineering from an accredited institutionThree (3) years of package engineering/design experience in a private, public, government or military environment.Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Three (3) years of experience in a manufacturing or production environmentProven experience in packaging design and development, preferably in a manufacturing or consumer goods industry.Strong knowledge of packaging materials, technologies, and industry standards.Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and effectively communicate ideas and recommendations.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and certifications related to packaging (e.g., FDA, ISO, ISTA) is a plus.Familiarity with sustainability practices and considerations in packaging design is desirable.Strong project management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Continuous learning mindset to stay updated on industry advancements and best practices.Work Location: Onsite USATravel: May include up to 20% domestic/internationalLocation: On-site US LocationsRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedPLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT AN ACTIVE JOB OPENING BUT RATHER A MEANS TO BUILD A PIPELINE OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN WORKING WITH US IN THE FUTURE.Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
